ASET Launches Market Research to Explore New Training Opportunities

ASET International Energy Training Academy (ASET) has launched a market research project in collaboration with Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce (AGCC).

The project highlights ASET’s commitment to staying at the forefront of industry demands and understanding the evolving training requirements of both current and prospective customers.

Established in 1993 and a subsidiary of North East Scotland College (NESCol), ASET has consistently diversified its training portfolio to meet the region’s skill requirements. In recent years, some of these developments include the opening of a scaffolding centre in 2016 to support the North East construction industry and the introduction of renewable energy training courses such as GWO and OPITO certified courses to support the energy transition.

In response to the ongoing transition within the energy sector ASET is seeking to explore its scope beyond traditional focus. To achieve this goal, ASET has partnered with AGCC to conduct a detailed survey aimed at capturing insights from various sectors including energy, marine, food and drink, transport and healthcare.

The market research will help ASET understand how it can better serve its existing clients and identify new opportunities to expand its offerings and to tailor courses to better align with market demands.

Sharon Scott, Senior Operations Manager, said: “ASET's mission is to strengthen its position as the training provider of choice. The insights we will gain from this research are key for us exploring new business sectors. Our priority is to support the skills requirements of businesses locally, nationally and internationally however we can.

“The construction industry had a real demand for a local scaffolding centre and that was something we were able to deliver on. By utilising our existing network and that of the Chamber, we hope to build a clearer picture of the requirements of the region’s employers.”

The online survey, which went live last week is live until mid-July.
