Course Content
This course is based on the HSE standard HSG 253 “The Safe Isolation of Plant and Equipment”
- Isolation definitions
- Risk assessment
- Permit to work
- Isolation procedures
- Planning an isolation
- Desktop exercises – using a ranking table to identify what level of isolation is required
- Key stages of process isolation:
- Vessel entry
- Lock out and tag out
- Line walk
- Isolate plant and equipment
- De-Isolate plant and equipment
- Re-commissioning plant and equipment
Assessment
Delegates will undertake a multiple-choice examination paper to demonstrate they have achieved the key learning outcomes detailed above.
PPE Requirements
Safety footwear, coveralls, safety glasses, hard hat.
