The original DPO certificate should be presented at the DP centre when attending the course.
Delegates will undertake an online multiple-choice assessment and a practical assessment to demonstrate they have achieved the key learning outcomes listed above.

The DP Revalidation Course may be completed up to 12 months before the revalidation date set by The Nautical Institute. The course is valid for a period of 12 months only, during which time the DPO must submit an application for revalidation to The Nautical Institute. If the participant is completing the course for the first time, there is no minimum DP sea time requirement.
Where a participant is undertaking the DP Revalidation Course for a second or subsequent time, a minimum of 28 DP sea time days is required for revalidation. This sea time may be accrued either before or after completion of the DP Revalidation Course; however, the sea time must have been gained within the validity period of the certificate.
If a participant subsequently revalidates by completing the full requirement of 150 DP sea time days, that participant can then take the DP Revalidation Course again without a DP sea time requirement.
