ASET International Energy Training Academy is proud to announce that we have been named a finalist at the Northern Star Business Awards, alongside our colleagues at North East Scotland College (NESCol).
Presented by the Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce, the awards celebrate the positive impact organisations make on the North East economy. Over 70 local organisations have been shortlisted across 15 categories, with the winners set to be announced at the awards ceremony on Friday 17 April at P&J Live.
ASET has been shortlisted for the Customer First Award, recognising organisations that place customer experience, service excellence, and strong relationships at the heart of what they do. NESCol has also been shortlisted in two categories - Staff Matter and Driving Sustainability - reflecting the strength of their people and long-term ambitions.
ASET’s nomination reflects our continued commitment to delivering high-quality, industry-led training that supports safer and more confident working practices in high-risk environments. Working closely with employers and delegates, our training is designed to be practical, responsive, and aligned with real operational challenges - from initial enquiry through to certification.
Our purpose-built facilities and experienced instructors allow learners to develop hands-on skills, test decision-making, and build confidence in a controlled environment. This approach supports organisations across sectors, including energy, renewables, utilities, distilling, pharmaceuticals, maritime and broader industrial settings, helping to reduce risk and prepare workforces for real-world demands.
Commenting on the nomination, Sharon Scott, General Manager at ASET, said:
“We are proud to be shortlisted for the Customer First Award at the Northern Star Business Awards. This nomination recognises the dedication and professionalism of the ASET team, whose commitment to delivering exceptional training experiences for our customers is at the heart of everything we do. We are equally delighted to share this achievement with our colleagues at North East Scotland College and congratulate them on their well-deserved nominations.”
Being named a finalist is a testament to the dedication of the ASET team and the strong relationships we have built with customers and partners who trust us to deliver training that instils confidence and supports safer workplaces.
