ASET Celebrates Northern Star Business Awards Finalist Recognition

ASET International Energy Training Academy was proud to attend this year’s Northern Star Business Awards, hosted by the Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce at P&J Live, celebrating the strength and success of organisations across the North-east.

More than 800 people attended the ceremony, hosted by broadcaster Edith Bowman, widely regarded as the region’s biggest business celebration. The awards - run by Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce, in association with Brodies LLP - recognise successful and growing organisations that make a positive impact on the North-east economy.

Representing ASET on the night were General Manager Sharon Scott, alongside team members Lisa Sutherland (Customer Service Team Lead) and Jonny Charles (Marketing & Communications Specialist), as the organisation was recognised as a finalist in the Customer First category.

ASET attended alongside colleagues from North East Scotland College (NESCol), who achieved success on the night with awards in both the Staff Matter and Driving Sustainability categories - a fantastic result that reflects the strength and ambition across the organisation.

ASET’s finalist recognition reflects its continued commitment to delivering high-quality, industry-led training that supports safer and more confident working practices in high-risk environments. Working closely with employers and delegates, ASET’s training is designed to be practical, responsive, and aligned with real operational challenges — from initial enquiry through to certification.

Through purpose-built facilities and experienced instructors, learners are able to develop hands-on skills, test decision-making, and build confidence in a controlled environment. This approach supports organisations across a wide range of sectors, including energy, renewables, utilities, distilling, pharmaceuticals, maritime, and broader industrial settings.

Commenting on being named as a finalist, Sharon Scott, General Manager at ASET, said:

“We are proud to be shortlisted for the Customer First Award at the Northern Star Business Awards. This nomination recognises the dedication and professionalism of the ASET team, whose commitment to delivering exceptional training experiences for our customers is at the heart of everything we do. We are equally delighted to share this achievement with our colleagues at North East Scotland College and congratulate them on their well-deserved nominations.”

Being named a finalist highlights ASET’s ongoing focus on delivering training that instils confidence and supports safer, more effective operations across the industry.
