ASET offers the Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ECS) Health and Safety Assessment, a vital component for professionals in the electrotechnical industry seeking to obtain or renew their ECS cards. This assessment ensures that individuals possess the necessary health and safety knowledge to perform their roles safely and effectively within the industry.

The ECS Health and Safety Assessment is designed for a wide range of electrotechnical workers, including electricians, technicians and other related roles. It evaluates participants' understanding of essential health and safety practices pertinent to their daily operations, aligning with industry standards and legal requirements.

At ASET, the assessment process is streamlined for participant convenience. The assessment consists of a 30-minute test comprising 50 multiple-choice questions, covering various topics related to workplace safety, electrical hazards and best practices. To aid in preparation, candidates are encouraged to review the ECS Health and Safety Assessment Revision Guide, which provides comprehensive coverage of the subjects included in the test.

Upon successful completion of the assessment, results are processed, and participants receive a certificate recognised by the Scottish Joint Industry Board (SJIB) as a valid demonstration of health and safety competence. This certification is a prerequisite for obtaining or renewing an ECS card, which serves as proof of an individual's qualifications and commitment to maintaining high safety standards in the electrotechnical sector.
