About this course
Personnel who wish an understanding of the Emergency Escape Lighting legal requirements for different locations onshore through the REGULATORY REFORM (FIRE SAFETY) ORDER (RRFSO) for non-domestic premises, and the HSE’s Offshore Semi Permanent Circulars SPC/TECH/OSD/40 (Offshore Safety Division)
Key Learning Outcomes:
• Awareness of the different locations and unique requirements for the types of Fittings, lighting level requirements, evacuation times, illuminated signs, way-guidance, and frequency of testing.
• Understanding of the process of installing, maintaining and testing Emergency Escape Lighting systems.
• Understand the roles and responsibilities for both duty holder and employees for maintenance purposes
• Safety Regulations HASAWA 1974
• Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
• Electric Shock, First Aid
• Routine Maintenance
• Risk Assessment
• Practical exercises on light level checks
Each delegate will undertake an open book multiple-choice examination paper to demonstrate they have achieved the key learning outcomes detailed above
City & Guilds 9841 Certificate
Required Instructor Qualification/Experience:
• SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years experience in electrical plant and equipment Installations
• A1 or equivalent Workplace Assessor
• City & Guilds approved Training Instructor
3 / 8 Course duration and times may vary depending on delegate numbers.
Delegates are required to supply their own PPE.
