Target Audience:

Electrical personnel who are involved with the operation, maintenance and electrical protection of Low Voltage Electrical Switchboards, and Electrical Installations as covered in Health Technical Memorandum’s 06-01 & 06-02.

Key Learning Outcomes:

• Understanding of operation, maintenance and electrical protection of Low Voltage Electrical Switchboards and Electrical Installations.
• Confidence to perform practical and procedural duties in accordance to the requirements of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.
• Understand the requirements of the Health Technical Memorandum aligned with BS7671.
• Engage in Safety Documents for situations that may arise on any premises involving operations on an electrical system

• Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
• Health Technical Memorandum’s 06-01:06-02
• Low Voltage Protection
• Low Voltage switchgear types
• Isolation Certificate
• Effects of faults on LV Switchgear
• Tertiary Supplies
• Practical exercises on
• Isolation Of Standby supplies-Batteries, UPS
• Isolation of Prime Mover in production setting
• Initial Verification & final Inspection & testing of newly Installed electrical installation to BS7671
• Electrical Status report on complete Electrical Distribution system comprising, Busbar Chamber, Distribution Boards, transformer

Assessment:

Each delegate will undertake an open book multiple-choice examination paper to demonstrate they have achieved the key learning outcomes detailed above.

Delivery:

This course exclusively uses ASET High Voltage equipment which consists of a full range of HV and LV switchboards which can either be remotely switched through our Electric Control Panel or locally at the boards themselves.

Certification:

City & Guilds 9841 Certificate

Required Instructor Qualification/Experience

• SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years experience in electrical plant and equipment Installations
• A1 or equivalent Workplace Assessor
• City & Guilds approved Training Instructor

Min/Max Delegates

2/ 8 Course duration and times may vary depending on delegate numbers.

Special Requirements

Delegates are required to supply their own PPE.
