About this course
This course is a Credit Rated and Levelled course which leads to a formal qualification upon completion. The course is recognised within the SCQF framework and contributes to an individual’s Continued Professional Development (CPD).
Target Audience
The course is designed for personnel who are involved in running a process plant, but require a deeper understanding of the components of control loops, calibration of measurement sensors, final control elements, use of diagnostic software and practical loop tuning. It is designed for personnel new to hands on process control, In operations, process engineering, engineers and technicians of all disciplines

- The reasons for various control strategies
- The role performed by instrument engineers and technicians
- The importance of teamwork for successful operation of the plant

- How optimally tuned loops should behave

Assessment:
Each delegate will undertake an open book multiple-choice examination paper to demonstrate they have achieved the key learning outcomes detailed above.
Delivery:
This course exclusively uses ASET's market leading live and fully integrated ABCOL Oil and Gas Production Training Platform, allowing the delegates a live and hands on experience of oil and gas production operations.
Certification:
SCQF Credit Rated & Levelled Certificate.
Minimum Instructor Qualification/Experience:
• SVQ Level 3 in Processing Operations Hydrocarbons or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years offshore experience in production operations
• A1 or equivalent Workplace Assessor
• ASET Approved Training Instructor
Min/Max Number of Delegates:
4/8, course duration and times may vary depending on delegate numbers
Special Requirements:
Delegates are required to supply their own PPE.
