Course Aims

  • To provide delegates with the required knowledge, know-how and skills in order to demonstrate their competency when carrying out isolation operations to the required industry standard.

Course Content

• This course is based on the HSE standards (HSG 253) “The Safe Isolation of Plant and Equipment”
• Prepare the plant and equipment for maintenance
• Isolate the plant and equipment
• De-Isolate the plant and equipment
• Vessel entry exercise
• Desktop exercises – using a ranking table to identify what level of isolation is required
• Key Stages of process isolation

Delivery

This course exclusively uses ASET's market leading live and fully integrated ABCOL Oil and Gas Production Training Platform, allowing the delegates to carry out isolations on live plant and equipment.

Certification

City & Guilds SCQF Level 5 Certificate. It is recommended that all personnel who attend this course attends the Competence in Safe Isolation of Process Plant and Equipment Refresher training course every 5 years.

Minimum Instructor Qualification/Experience

• SVQ Level 3 in Processing Operations Hydrocarbons or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years offshore experience in production operations
• A1 or equivalent Workplace Assessor
• City & Guilds Approved Instructor Assessor.

Min/Max Number of Delegates

4/8, course duration and times may vary depending on delegate numbers

Special Requirements

Delegates are required to supply their own PPE.
