Engineering personnel involved with power distribution networks, and the use of site operated switchgear, either onshore, offshore or onboard vessels.
To provide a safe procedure for isolation of interconnected distribution systems and to enable participants to determine standing load versus generation capability to maintain stability of the network.
- Safety regulations HSAWA 74, EAW Regs 1989
- Electric shock effects
- First aid procedures
- Permit to work systems
- Authorisation levels
- Effects of faults on switchgear
- Switchgear types and principals of operation
- Generator operation
- Control and capability diagrams
- Load flow and load stability
- Practical exercises & simulator
- HV/LV Protection Relays Overview.
The majority of this course is practical hands on training delivered by fully qualified and experienced ex industry personnel using equipment replicated from the onshore and offshore oil and gas working environment. This course is delivered on a 'live' power switching network simulator

Note to Clients
Why ASET's High Voltage Training differs from that of it's competitors in Scotland:
Our fully rated HV/LV switchboards, consisting of HV VCB's and masterpack LV ACB's are supplied by our two generators and VSD's offering synchronising and load sharing capabilities from our installed remote Electrical Control Desk , there local control facilities on our boards. The variety of interlocks during operation will be fully demonstrated. Successful completion of the course can greatly assist delegates in final assessment for authorisation levels at the work site.
