About this course
To participants who have completed an HV Switching & System Control course within the last 3 years.
To refresh theoretical and practical training in the safe isolation of electrical distribution systems. To enable course participants to refresh the skills required to effect the safe isolation on distribution networks, concurrent with current legislative requirements.
- Safety Regulations HSAWA 1974 EAW Regs SI1993
- Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
- Electricity at Work Regulations
- Dangers of electricity
- Permit to work systems
- Generation of switching programs
- Generator operation
- 1 x practical assessment per delegate
- 1 x simulator assessment.
The majority of this course is practical hands on training delivered by fully qualified and experienced ex industry personnel using equipment replicated from the onshore and offshore oil and gas working environment. This course is delivered using a distribution simulator
City & Guilds SCQF Level 6 : Certificate.
Minimum Instructor Qualification/Experience
- 5 years' experience in electrical plant operations
- Qualified to Authorised Electrical Person status
- Presentation skills
- A1 Workplace Assessor..

Course duration and times may vary depending on delegate numbers.
Delegates are required to supply their own PPE.
